The COTES DU RHONE vineyard of Lafond Roc-Epine is situated to a great extent on Roquemaure, the cradle of the Appellation. In the past, from the port of Roquemaure, the first casks sailed for Burgundy, English and Switzerland trade.
Our vineyard is situated around Clary’s Castle, on pebbly ground terraces. They have been planted, about 1880, just after phylloxera crisis, and they are always productive now. They are the oldest vineyards of the world.
The Côtes du Rhône wine is very pleasant thanks to its flavours of ripe fruits, cherry, blackcurrant and undergrowth.
On the palate, it's very mellow with a good concentration. It’s a wine for the present consumer because it joins together : suppleness, fruity and concentration.
